The Mission Impossible Theme Sung by Chickens...
Yes, it's true: the Mission Impossible Theme sung by chickens is just one of the aural oddities available on April Winchell's Multimedia Page. April Winchell, popular talk show guest, cartoon voice, and daughter of ventriloquist Paul Winchell has assembled a truly eclectic collection of MP3 files you will probably not find anywhere else on the Web: Frank Sinatra Jr. singing the theme from “Gumby”. Donald Duck singing “Amazing Grace”. Hindi covers of Abba songs. Porky Pig singing “Blue Christmas”; the list just goes on and on. Thanks, April.

Dvorak Dumps on Blogs
John Dvorak, who I have defended in the past on a couple of occasions, has unleashed another barrage against bloggers. I just can't defend him on this one. I know it's his job to be a professional curmudgeon, but every once in a while he just doesn't get it. (That happens to me too, but I usually admit it--at least I try). Doc Searls has the best lowdown and set of links on his blog, so I'll send you there to read more...

Cinderella

Went and saw my son in Cinderella this weekend at Naperville North H.S. Remarkable job by all for a show that was put together by student directors in three week! It was the fall “Children's Play” but the kids at North decided to get very ambitious and mount a full musical. (They were fortunate to have a North alum, Mike Aquaviva, step in as their pianist after the show had opened.) Andrew was the herald (spelled in the program as “Harold”!) and got to do the opening number: pretty cool--second full-fledged musical he's been in, second time doing the opening number. Consequently he was featured prominantly in the publicity photo that ran in the Daily Herald (hey, they know how to spell herald!) which you see at the top of this entry. I did it up in a few versions:
Big version of just the photo [1420X725, 355kb]
Small version of just the photo [469X246, 39kb]
Windows Desktop image of the version with the title [1280X1024, 366kb]
Windows Desktop image of the version with the title [1024X768, 267kb]
Windows Desktop image of the version with the title [800X600, 188kb]
